Two teenagers have committed suicide in northern Balkh and Samangan provinces, local officials said on Wednesday.
The first incident happened in Shulgara district of Balkh after a 16-year-old girl hanged herself for as yet unknown reasons, District Governor Sarajuddin Abid said.
"It not yet clear why she committed suicide and investigations are underway," he said.
The local officials believe that she did this due to families issues.
In a separate incident, an 18-year-old boy committed suicide due to financial problems in Samangan province, a spokesman for Police Media Office in Samangan, Abdul Munir Rahimi said.
The boy named Abdulla was a resident of Aybak the capital of province.
